Abstract:
There has been substantial work on control release technologies for a variety of applications. The seminar will include discussions on electrochemical micropump technologies for consumer, industrial and medical applications. The speaker will further discuss the electrochemical gas driven micro-pumps, osmotic pumps as well as iontophoresis. A case study of laboratory to market will be described.
Biography:
Dr. Ashok Joshi is currently working as executive director at Technology Holding LLC, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He served as a sole owner, CEO and president of Ceramatec Inc, where he grew the company 300% over a short timespan of 8 years. Ceramatec Inc. was acquired by CoorsTek, the largest technical ceramics company in the world. Dr. Joshi has been a serial entrepreneur with more than ten ventures under his belt. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Salt Lake Community College and the Indian Cultural Center of Utah. He was appointed as a member of the advisory board to the president of Westminster College. He also served as a board member of the Industrial Research Institute in Washington DC. In recognition of his accomplishments and service, he has received a number of awards including Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology, Industrial Research Institute Achievement award, Asian of the Year Award by the Utah Chamber of Commerce and Utah Pioneer Award. He has PhD in Material Science from Northwestern University and Bachelors of Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune.
