Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, John Zink is home to one of the combustion industry’s largest research and development test centers. John Zink’s emissions-control and clean-air systems function in the world’s most demanding industries—from hydrocarbon and chemical processing, to biofuels, automobile manufacturing, food processing, pulp and paper, waste management, and more. Charles E. Baukal, Jr., Ph.D., P.E., Director of the John Zink Institute, presented his lecture on, “Industrial Combustion Applications” and presented three graduate students, Fatemeh Babazadeh Shareh, (Advisors: Professor Geoffrey Silcox and Professor Eric Eddings) Derek Allen Cline, (Advisor: Associate Professor James Sutherland) Raul Velasco (Advisor: Professor Milind Deo) with Scholarships at the seminar. Each student was awarded a $5,000 scholarship. Almost 50 students have been supported through the John Zink scholarship program over the last 13 years.
